In Greek mythology, Beroe is the goddess-nymph of Beirut. The daughter of Aphrodite and Adonis, Beroe was known all over the world for her wisdom and her otherworldly beauty. Though she was born a mortal, gods fought for her love. In this mythos, she lives on as the wife of Poseidon, the personification of her city and a symbol of its enduring beauty.
